Targus Defcon Cable Lock — 2.1m Kensington Combination Security
The Targus Defcon cable lock is a physical laptop security solution for shared offices, co-working spaces, university libraries and open-plan corporate environments. It threads through the Kensington security slot found on most business laptops — including Dell Latitude, Lenovo ThinkPad, HP EliteBook and many Apple MacBook models. A 2.1-metre reinforced carbon steel cable anchors the device to a desk leg, cable tray or fixed structural element.
The cable length is sufficient to loop around a desk leg and reach the Kensington slot without pulling tight. The steel sheathing resists cutting attempts with standard handheld tools, deterring opportunistic theft during brief unattended periods.
Four-Digit Combination — No Key Required
The Targus Defcon cable lock uses a resettable four-digit combination dial instead of a physical key. You set your own combination during first use by following the simple reset procedure printed on the lock body. There is no key to lose and no risk of lockout from a misplaced key. Changing the combination after a staff change is straightforward and requires no tools or specialist assistance.
Practical Asset Protection for South African Offices
Physical laptop theft is a documented risk in South African office environments with open-plan layouts, visitor access or shared workspaces. A visible cable lock raises the effort required for an opportunistic grab. It satisfies most corporate asset security policies that require physical device anchoring. It also provides meaningful protection during short absences in coffee shops, libraries and seminar venues.
The Targus Defcon cable lock is stocked at Briggi Tech with nationwide delivery across South Africa.
